Hi: This one is for Eva.Having read your profile, I think I have one for you! I have just self-published my book, "White Ashes" through iUniverse. Set in late 1960s Middle-England, it tells of a teenage girl who's life is suddenly besieged by assassination plots, abductions, and police corruption, as dangerous secrets emerge from her boyfriend’s past. The Story tests the judgement of it's characters and I believe it will test the judgement of it's readers too. You'll find details at the dedicated website page I have created here: http://www.white-ashes.com
aw shoot, I knew if I didn't get to my mail on occasion I'd miss something good. Congrats on all the great reviews you got on Amazon. Sounds like you got there without us. Means all that work was rewarded. Sorry it took (literally) years to get back to you. We had some interesting life distractions. Let me know if you still want us to do a review, but I suspect you won't need it.Congrats again -Eva

Black law school student arrested by the DEA. This is a true story about race, love, betrayal and his quest to live the American Dream. It's a dark, gritty book, with anger always rumbling immediately below the surface. hermangarner.com The Smashwords version is free.
Hello Eva, My new book, Voyage: A Memoir of Love, War, and Ever After, brings five-generations of my St. Louis family to life in a story that is heartwarming, heart-rending, and true, written with a ‘trampoline timeline’ that melds World War II love letters, vignettes about mid-century family life, and essays embedded with post-millennial insight. Here’s the Cliff Notes: A world at war. A lonely sailor without a sawbuck to spare. A gorgeous socialite on the home front. Letters soaked in longing. Secrets taken to the grave. Easy births. Hard deaths. And dogs —dogs aplenty. During World War II, Bob Underhill was an affable junior officer aboard a Navy minesweeper, a fellow from working-class New York. Merrilee Ann Meier was a stunning St. Louis socialite “entering the halcyon period pretty girls from established families swan into after they finish a degree in anything and before they marry a newly minted lieutenant.” From sweat-soaked Panama to the bone-cold North Atlantic, Bob pours out his affections in letters to Merrilee, but glosses over the delicate maneuver required to snip the trip-wire of an underwater bomb, and live. Across their 58-year marriage, Bob and Merrilee kept secrets close as they confronted holiday fiascoes and funeral foul-ups, windless regattas and catastrophic tornadoes. But rearing six not-so-angelic kids was the ultimate test of a commitment that began with a letter. Illustrated with vintage photographs, Voyage: A Memoir of Love, War, and Ever is a warm but honest character study of families from disparate circumstances united by a guy and a gal who, during at time of war, took a chance on love. Bob and Merrilee Underhill were my parents. They gave me and my siblings an idyllic (but not perfect) childhood. In so doing, they provided a wealth of material for a memoir researched and written by a Mizzou journalism grad and retired newspaper feature writer. We’re not a dynastic brewery family, not celebrities or sports superstars. While our story is unique and compelling, I think a good number of readers will recognize their family story in ours. My two previously published books were the novels Going on Nine (Familius, 2014) and A Matter of Happenstance (Plain View Press, 2010). I hope you will consider Voyage: A Memoir of Love, War, and Ever After for a review. If so, please contact me through my web site and I will forward an author bio, cover image, Q&A with the author, and a code on the publisher's web site to download a complementary copy of the book.
